Skate Palace is operated by David and Patty Leazier. Patty actually began skating at Turner's Skate Palace in 1974. As a former member of the Hagerstown Road Runners, Patty competed on a regional and national level.
Turner's is the home for the Mason-Dixon Roller Derby Vixens, the Hagerstown Artistic Team, and the Fast Forward Racing Team. Patty, alias Poison Princess, skates for the Mason-Dixon Vixens. She is the head coach and a senior lady skater for the Fast Forward Racing inline-speed team. Fast Forward is one of the premier teams in the nation with regional, national, and international champions.
The Leazier family is hoping to bring family rollerskating entertainment back to Turner's Skate Palace. Patty's family is actively involved in the facility's operation, including their son Dylan and their new daughter Piper. As a matter of fact, it is only a matter of time before Piper laces up her skates hits the floor too!
Community involvement is a core part of the rink's identity as the Leazier family strives to provide a family-oriented atmosphere for children, teenagers, and adults. The Leaziers plan to host activities for the community to ensure that the area's youth have a safe and exciting environment for entertainment skating, dancing, and family outings.
The Skate Palace is your entertainment specialists: friendly staff, well-maintained facility, edited and age-appropriate music, and, of course, LOTS OF FUN! The traditional hardwood floor offers ample skating room measuring 76 x 175 with a Roll-on coating for grip and traction.
Skate Palace also provides themed overnighters and parties for the skaters and has many activities available for the non-skaters (skates not required to participate) including dancing, arcades, Play Zone, Ball Pit, and MoonBounce. The Palace also offers a fully stocked snack bar, pro shop, stuff shop, and DJ booth for music requests.
